In 2022, my journey of restoring a traditional Japanese kominka began.
Along the way, I encountered extraordinary craftsmen and the timeless beauty of traditional Japanese techniques passed down through generations. Through this experience, I came to realize the richness of not just “living,” but truly living in harmony with nature.
After many years of dedication, the kominka I have carefully restored is finally ready to be unveiled.
Thanks to @airbnb, you can experience the magic of my kominka with this exclusive stay.
Guests will be invited to experience the stories and intentions behind each space through a private room tour, enjoy meals featuring local ingredients, and take part in a playful and immersive hospitable experience created by tea master Dairiku Amae. Inspired by the childhood spirit of “Mamagoto” that we should never lose as adults, the experience is centered around the themes of tea, flowers, incense, and color — designed to awaken playfulness and the senses.
As a special gift, guests will also receive incense curated by tefutefu .
Through the restoration of this kominka, I hope to share the beauty, emotions, and unique Japanese sense of aesthetics we discovered here with the world.
